This show felt like a dream, and I was dancing in a world of my own! Let's revisit these perfect places. I was fortunate enough to get tickets to this incredible concert in Columbus, Ohio. It was my first opportunity to see Lorde perform live, and I've been a fan since her debut album when I was just 16, living in Tampa, Florida, and dancing to her music in my bedroom. I've waited a long time to sing these lyrics at the top of my lungs with her, and doing so was a nostalgic experience that brought me immense joy. The show was incredibly fun, so let's dive into the details!

The Ultrasound World Tour marks her fourth concert tour in support of her fourth studio album, Virgin! Lorde, a New Zealand artist, is taking this tour across North America, Europe, and Oceania with a total of 53 shows. The tour's fourth stop is in Columbus, Ohio, featuring two fantastic opening acts: The Japanese House and Chanel Beads. Our event took place at the remarkable Schottenstein Center, a venue I've enjoyed visiting previously. It’s an excellent arena and was an ideal setting for Lorde.

This show had a raw and genuine feel, in a positive way. Lorde comes across as down-to-earth and relatable as she dances around in her underwear, singing to a video camera. It's as if you're spending time with an old friend. Lorde interacts with the audience as though we're just friends in a room with her, and she's not a massive pop star performing for us—she's simply Ella. She doesn't sing along to a track; she's truly singing to us, allowing her beautiful voice to shine in moments like “Writer in the Dark” and “Big Star.”
The outfit changes are subtle and align with the concert's vibe. She primarily wears comfortable clothes, underwear, and jeans. She's embracing simplicity and authenticity, without anything extravagant or excessive in terms of makeup or costumes. It suits the show well.
The set remains quite simple throughout the performance, featuring several lifting elements and primarily a large screen behind her displaying footage recorded by someone sharing the stage with her, enhancing that authentic feel. During the concert, she even mentions how being together in the room is a genuine and special moment to share. Even if it's scripted, she makes it seem spontaneous, as if she's casually chatting with friends. Her energy is fantastic. The lighting adds a cool effect to the songs, using flashes, blues, reds, and greens to set the mood. Personally, I love the show's visual aspect. It feels like a party or festival—creative but not over-the-top. This simple yet enjoyable element significantly enhances the concert and fits the overall vibe perfectly. One of the show's highlights is when she enters the pit and walks through the crowd during her song "David." Performing the entire song while moving through the audience is exhilarating and immersive. Although I wasn't in the pit, I still felt completely involved, even from a distance.

Favorite Moments:
The experience of singing "Royals" with the crowd was truly iconic and beyond words.
"Perfect Places" is a perfect song. The crowd was crazy loud, I felt SO ALIVE!
"Supercut" on the treadmill? So fun. Fitness Queen.
"No Better" is finally receiving the recognition it deserves.
"Writer in the Dark" was amazing to hear live. She only performed it at our show (so far)!
"Clearblue" sounds incredible live.
"What Was That" turned into a wild dance party.
"David". You had to witness it. We transcended.
During "Ribs", I was jumping so much with strangers and with Jon that I thought I might pass out. It was incredibly fun and healed my preteen self. The best ending to a show.
This show was one of my favorites. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend buying tickets if you get the chance. The best experience might be in the pit, as being that close offers so many immersive elements, but having watched the concert from the 200’s section, I can confirm there absolutely isn’t a bad seat in the venue. Lorde delivered an amazing performance that’s both nostalgic and includes every song from her new and incredible album, "Virgin". If you’re a fan of her work, this is a must-see! Even if you’re not familiar with her, it’s a fantastic opportunity to experience what Lorde is all about.
